Big Creek Baptist Church - Soso, Mississippi

Bro. Don Brown came to Big Creek Baptist Church in November 2006. He accepted the full time call of the church as pastor in September 2007.  Bro. Don has served as editor of the Mississippi Baptist Paper (the official publication of the Baptist Missionary Association of Mississippi) since 1978. His wife, Bonnie, is the executive secretary at Southeastern Baptist College, Laurel, Mississippi. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.

Bro. Brown has been in the ministry for 30 years and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He also attended Mississippi Delta Junior College, William Carey College and Southeastern Baptist College. He has done graduate work at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Bro. Brown has served as pastor and interim pastor at four other churches during his ministry.

Bob Barger is the Music Minister of Big Creek Baptist Church. He is a talented leader, vocalist and guitarist and directs the choir; the presentation of special music for our worship services; leads in the production of musical presentations at Christmas and Easter; and oversees and plans the overall music program of Big Creek. He was instrumental is starting the church Hand Bell Choir.

Bob has been serving the Lord in the music ministry for over 30 years. He and his wife Lanie live in Sandersville, Mississippi, and are the parents of Cyline & Bret Barger and Andrea Youngblood.

 Geneva Myers is the church secretary. She is the daughter of a Baptist pastor and this experience and knowledge of the church makes her a valuable asset. She and her husband Robert have 3 sons, Ryan, Caleb and Joshua. They are all active in our church. Geneva also is very talented and sings in the Gospel group "Stubborn Love".
